Sub Acute

Subacute rehabilitation at NRH was designed for people who have experienced an acutely disabling orthopedic, medical or neurologic condition but who either do not require or are unable to participate in a full acute inpatient program. Persons receiving this level of care have access to the same physicians, nurses and therapy team members participating in our specialty inpatient programs.

Potentially Relevant DRGs

Impairment groups pertinent to this level of care mirror those of the acute programs and include brain injury, spinal cord injury (traumatic / non-traumatic), stroke, orthopedic injury, amputation, neurologic disorder, and others as listed below.

Neurologic
  • 001 Craniotomy without trauma
  • 002/003 Craniotomy with trauma
  • 004/009 Spinal procedure/Spinal disorders and injuries
  • 010/011 Nervous system neoplasm
  • 012 Degenerative nervous system disorder/disease
  • 013 Multiple sclerosis and cerebellar ataxia
